The state of Florida has organized a huge response to the tragedy. This includes a large effort for victims of the Surfside condo buildings collapse. The state, along with its aid organization, have put together a list of ways survivors can be helped. Local groups also have created two main funds, the Support Surfside Fund as well as the Surfside Building Collapse Victim Fund. A list of ways to help has also been compiled and maintained by WLRN, a local TV station.

Puerto Rico Resources

Puerto Rico has limited natural resources. It is difficult to produce crops on many parts of the island because of the mountainous terrain. There are however resources that could be used to construct and build industry. Copper, nickel and oil are found on the island. The island also has large quantities of gravel, stone, sand. Despite these resources, mining for oil has been prohibitively expensive.

Puerto Rico citizens have access to numerous government resources. First and foremost, Puerto Rico has a Department of Environment and Natural Resources that is responsible for managing the island's natural resource. This agency works toward improving the island's quality life. Additionally, all information related to legal issues can be found online by the Puerto Rico government. The Guide to Law Online links to a vast database of official legal texts. The database also contains summaries in English and other languages of many legal documents.

Resources for Virgin Islands citizens

The Virgin Islands is a group consisting of approximately ninety small rock, cays and islands that span more than sixty miles in the Caribbean Sea. The USVI is a member country of American Samoa but not of the British Virgin Islands. While some people consider the islands to be part of the USVI, they are actually part of the Greater Antilles. These islands are predominantly mountainous and rise from a submerged plateau. The Caribbean Sea plunges to over 15,000ft between St. Croix islands and the group to their north. While most islands are located below sea level, some peaks may rise to 1,200 feet.

It promotes small business ownership by residents of the U.S. Virgin Islands. The VIEDA also maintains a bank and other resources for entrepreneurs. Finally, the University of the Virgin Islands (US Small Business Administration) and the University of the Virgin Islands provide management assistance and training to those who are interested.
